Bomadi LGA, Transmission Company Collaborate To Boost Power Supply
The Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Area, Rawlings Dagidi Andaye, has partnered with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to improve power supply in the council area.
TCN plans to construct a 132/33 KV Transmission Station in Kpakiama, Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta State, to enhance electricity supply. Once completed, the project will provide electricity not only to Bomadi but also to surrounding towns and villages.
During a recent visit, TCN officials confirmed the site’s suitability and secured 300 by 300 feet of land in Amalasama, a community hamlet. Engr. Chukwuemeka Kenneth, TCN’s General Manager for the Delta Sub-region, expressed gratitude for the community’s support and highlighted the project’s potential to deliver a steady power supply and create jobs for local youths.
Chairman Hon. Andaye reaffirmed his commitment to improving electricity access, stressing its importance. He assured residents that within a few months, the electricity challenges in Bomadi would be resolved.
Mr. Ebiegberi Abamoh, Chairman of the Kpakiama Urban Community, praised Hon. Andaye’s efforts and pledged the community’s cooperation to ensure the project’s success, expressing confidence that the project will significantly benefit the entire Bomadi Local Government Area.
He noted that the residents of Kpakiama take pride in the rapid progress made within just over two months of Hon. Andaye’s tenure. The substation will enhance power distribution as well as create employment opportunities for youths in Bomadi and its environs.
