APC Dismisses Rumours About VP Shettima’s 2027 Removal

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly refuted claims that Vice President Kashim Shettima could be replaced as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate in the 2027 general elections. In a statement issued on Monday, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, dismissed the rumors as “purely speculative, untrue, and utterly baseless.”

The party reacted to growing media speculation that the APC might reshuffle its presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 polls. Morka clarified that such discussions are premature, as political activities remain restricted under Nigeria’s electoral laws until the appropriate time.

Emphasizing that the APC’s focus is on governance and supporting the current administration’s agenda, Morka urged the media to avoid spreading unfounded rumors. He also warned party members, including government officials, to refrain from stoking unnecessary speculation and instead focus on their duties to strengthen the party’s progress.

The statement sought to put an end to the growing discourse over the 2027 election ticket, assuring the public that the APC remains united and focused on delivering its governance agenda.
