FGC Warri to Launch Technology Centre for 60th Anniversary
Federal Government College, Warri, is set to mark its 60th anniversary with the establishment of a state-of-the-art Technology and Innovation Centre. The announcement was made during a special Diamond Jubilee event, where the Global President of the school’s Old Students Association, Dr. Godwin Amobi Alo, outlined plans for the centre, which will focus on advancing students’ skills in areas like robotics, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.
The new facility is part of a broader effort to provide students with modern skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), supporting the country’s push for digital education. The centre will also contribute to the government’s push towards Computer-Based Testing for exams, ensuring students have access to cutting-edge resources.
In addition to the technology centre, the school will also use its ₦3 billion Legacy Fund to build a world-class sports complex and establish a scholarship program to support graduates pursuing higher education or vocational training.
Alo emphasized the importance of alumni support for the Legacy Fund, calling it a crucial investment in the future of both the school and the nation.
