Agbateyiniro Flags Off Ifiekporo Link Bridge, Road Projects in Warri ⁩

The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, has officially flagged off the Ifiekporo Link Bridge and a major road project in Igbudu.

The groundbreaking ceremonies, held on November 4, 2024, took place in two separate locations Ifiekporo community and Igbudu Market, Warri.

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was represented at the events by Ebikeme Clark, the Director of Riverine Infrastructural Development. During his address, Clark stated that the projects are a key part of Governor Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E. (Meaningful Opportunities for Real Empowerment) Agenda, designed to bring lasting development to the area and deliver on campaign promises made to the people of Delta State.

Speaking at the Ifiekporo site, Chairman Agbateyiniro described the project as one of the most ambitious under his administration. He noted that it was the 142nd day of his tenure. Agbateyiniro praised the project, calling it the “ninth wonder of the world,” emphasizing the importance of the new bridge in improving connectivity and economic activity in the riverine community.

The Ifiekporo Link Bridge, which will span 60 meters in length and 7.5 meters in width, will also include a 1-meter pedestrian walkway, improving access and safety for residents. The project is expected to ease traffic congestion and provide easier access to the neighboring areas.

Community Chairman Monday Agbeyi expressed his gratitude to the local government for the initiative. According to him,the project would positively impact the livelihoods of Ifiekporo residents, particularly in terms of mobility and trade.

At the Igbudu site, Agbateyiniro reiterated his commitment to completing the road project within one month, a pledge he made during his campaign. He also announced that the project would include the installation of a transformer, addressing the community’s long-standing power supply challenges.

In his address, Igbudu community leader Chief Israel Abido thanked Agbateyiniro for his swift intervention and expressed confidence that the completed road would greatly improve the community’s access to key areas of Warri.
