Ooni of Ife Honours First Lady Remi Tinubu with Rare Yoruba Chieftaincy Title

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title “Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile Oodua” by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.

The honour was bestowed on Sunday as part of activities marking the monarch’s 10th Coronation Anniversary, drawing traditional rulers, including the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, Sultan of Sokoto, Soun of Ogbomoso, cultural leaders, and dignitaries from across Yorubaland.

The title carries significant historical weight, as it was last held by the late Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo, wife of the revered statesman Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
