Police Arrests Vigilante for Murdering Delta Student in Hostel
The Delta State Police Command have arrested a vigilante member following the fatal shooting of a student in Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku.
The victim, 29-year-old Peter Eyorowalebo, was a final-year student of Science Laboratory Technology at Delta State Polytechnic. He was reportedly shot in his room while preparing for exams at about 09:30 am on Wednesday, 30 April.
Police disclosed the suspect, 25-year-old Ike Peter, is a member of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in the area. He was detained at the scene and later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on the orders of the Delta State Police Commissioner, Olufemi Abaniwonda.

State police spokesperson, Bright Edafe told reporters that officers responded swiftly to a distress call and found the victim in a pool of blood. Eyorowalebo was rushed to hospital, where he was declared dead. His body has since been taken to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Commissioner Abaniwonda has directed the SCID to carry out a comprehensive investigation. He also expressed condolences to the victim’s family and fellow students, urging the public to remain calm and promising justice in the case.
