Tenants Lure, Abduct Four Kids in Delta Community

Residents of Ogwashi-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State have been thrown into panic following the reported abduction of four children over the weekend.

The missing children, identified as Ebube and Miracle siblings and Chimanda and Excel from another family, were said to have been lured away from their homes in the Umuokwe quarters of the community by three unidentified women. According to local sources, the women had recently secured emergency accommodation in the area.

Eyewitnesses allege that the women approached the children under the pretense of buying them biscuits from a nearby shop. When the children failed to return, concerned neighbors raised the alarm. A visit to the apartment revealed it had been abandoned both the women and the children were nowhere to be found.

Confirming the incident, Delta State Police Command spokesperson, Mr. Bright Edafe, stated that the children were abducted just three days after the women moved into the neighborhood.

“It is true,” Edafe said. “The problem is that there is no link. They just came and said they wanted to rent an apartment, and the landlady gave it to them with no details no name, no phone number, no agreement and after three days, they carried four children.”

The landlady of the compound has since been arrested and is currently in police custody as investigations continue. Police say her lack of due diligence and suspicious behavior have made her a person of interest in the case.
