Lawuru Steps Up Consultations for Warri Reps Seat
Frontline All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Chief Promise Lawuru, has continued his grassroots consultations as part of efforts to secure support for his ambition. Lawuru made his position known on Sunday while meeting with members of the Warri Urhobo APC family in Warri.
The meeting, which held at the residence of Olorogun Bernard Okumagba, brought together party leaders and stakeholders from the constituency. Lawuru used the forum to formally present his intention to contest the seat, stressing that his campaign is centred on service, unity and the need to restore Warri’s presence in national political discourse.
Addressing the gathering, the APC aspirant said Warri Federal Constituency comprising Itsekiri, Urhobo and Ijaw ethnic nationalities requires a representative who understands the importance of balance and fairness among the groups. According to him, effective representation must reflect the interests of every community in the constituency.
Lawuru pointed to his personal background as a factor that makes him well suited for the role. He said his family heritage reflects both Itsekiri and Urhobo traditions, adding that his cultural ties across ethnic lines place him in a position to bridge divides and strengthen unity among the people.
He urged party members to support his aspiration during the APC selection process, expressing confidence that a united front among the ethnic nationalities in Warri Federal Constituency would help strengthen the area’s political influence and attract development to the region.
