Ministry of Secondary Education to begin Digitisation of Staff Records

DELTA STATE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION

Asaba – The Delta State Ministry of Secondary Education has directed all teaching and non-teaching staff in public secondary schools across the state to submit key personal records within 48 hours.

The directive issued by the Permanent Secretary on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu requires staff to provide copies of their letter of first appointment, their last three promotion letters, and their last three posting letters.

According to the ministry, the move is aimed at kickstarting the digitisation of personnel data in public post-primary institutions.

The initiative is expected to strengthen record-keeping, improve administrative efficiency, and support better planning within the education sector.

The directive, routed through the Chief Inspector of Education (CIE), mandates that all documents be submitted within respective jurisdictions. It warned that failure to comply within the stipulated 48-hour deadline would attract disciplinary action in line with public service rules.

Chief Inspectors of Education have also been tasked with ensuring proper collation of the documents, alongside a detailed list of staff in their areas, including names, qualifications, and subjects taught.

They are further directed to ensure immediate circulation of the directive to all school principals and staff for strict compliance.
