Wike Says Fubara Must Seek Forgiveness, Backs State of Emergency in Rivers
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says he is prepared to forgive suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara but only if the governor personally requests it.
At a press briefing in Abuja, Wike revealed that two unnamed governors had recently approached him in an attempt to mediate the ongoing rift between him and his successor. While expressing readiness to reconcile, Mr Wike made clear that forgiveness would depend on a formal request from Governor Fubara.
