Warri, Sapele, Others Face Power Outages as TCN Begins Feeder Repairs
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced ongoing preventive maintenance at its Delta 132/33kV Transmission Substation, a process it says is aimed at strengthening the reliability of power transmission infrastructure within the region.
According to the company, the maintenance exercise began on 4 June 2026 and is scheduled to run daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. until 16 June 2026. It explained that the work involves the installation of a bus coupler circuit breaker and the rehabilitation of five isolators on the main busbar.
TCN noted that several 33kV feeders from the Effurun and Delta substations will be affected during the period, including those serving Effurun, Warri, Sapele, Osubi, PTI, PMSL, Refinery I and II, Enerhen, Isoko/Kwale, Otovwodo/Patani, Ughelli/Shell, Agbarho/Eku, Aladja, Imoniyame and Beta Glass. It, however, assured that supply would be restored daily after 5:00 p.m., allowing the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) to resume distribution to customers.
Speaking on the development, the General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said: “TCN apologizes for every inconvenience caused by the ongoing maintenance exercise,” adding that the intervention is part of routine efforts to improve grid stability and service delivery.
