University of Port Harcourt Denies Viral ‘Deity Snake’ Story

The University of Port Harcourt has dismissed as false reports circulating on social media that a large snake, allegedly described as a deity, was found and killed in a campus hostel and classroom.

In an official statement, the university’s spokesperson, Dr. Sammy Kpenu, labeled the rumors “baseless” and a product of mischief-makers seeking social media attention.

The university reassured students, staff, and the public that no such incident occurred and warned that those spreading false information would face appropriate action.

Members of the public are advised to rely on official university communications for accurate information.
