Ughelli North APC Adopts Ofomukoro Ahead of LG Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State has selected Mr. Lucky Ofomukoro as its consensus chairman ahead of the forthcoming local government elections. The decision followed a consultative meeting involving party leaders and stakeholders, aimed at promoting unity within the party.

Stakeholders agreed to zone the chairmanship position to Agbarha-Otor Ward, a move intended to minimize internal disputes and strengthen cohesion.

Party leaders revealed that reconciliation committees had already addressed most lingering disagreements, paving the way for a unanimous endorsement of Ofomukoro. The meeting was chaired by Chief Fred Majemite, while the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government, Chief Jaro Egbo, urged continued engagement at the ward level to ensure widespread participation. He emphasized that the gathering was part of preparatory efforts, with the official congress to be conducted in line with party guidelines.

Meanwhile, outgoing APC Chairman, Hon. Samuel Evwighono, encouraged the incoming leadership to sustain peace and reconciliation. Party stakeholders also applauded the inclusion women representatives from all wards, noting that it reflects a commitment to broader participation and inclusive party leadership.
