Two Found Dead in Delta, After Generator Fumes Leak

Two young men in their twenties have been found dead in a one-room apartment in Agbarho, Ughelli North local government area, under mysterious circumstances.

Local residents have raised concerns that the deaths may have been caused by inhaling toxic fumes from a generator placed on the veranda of the apartment.

According to neighbors, one of the deceased men had moved into the apartment with three friends on January 1st. Shortly after, neighbors began noticing a strong, foul odor emanating from the unit. “We became worried and knocked on their door, but there was no response,” said a resident, who spoke anonymously,. “We had to call the police.”

When officers arrived at the scene and forced open the door, they found two lifeless bodies inside. Two other individuals, who appeared weak and disoriented, were immediately taken to the hospital.

Though the exact cause of death has yet to be confirmed by authorities, residents speculate that the generator’s exhaust may have leaked into the apartment, leading to a deadly buildup of carbon monoxide.

The police have not yet commented on the incident, and investigations are underway.
