‘The State Has Money,’ Oborevwori Says at ₦39bn Otovwodo Flyover Launch
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has stated that state governments are now receiving increased financial allocations from the federation account, urging public office holders to be honest about available resources.
The governor made the statement on Monday during the groundbreaking ceremony for the ₦39.3 billion Otovwodo flyover project in Ughelli North Local Government Area, a key junction linking Warri, Asaba, and Patani along the East–West corridor.
According to Oborevwori, the improved inflow of funds has removed excuses for poor governance, stressing that development should reflect in visible infrastructure projects that directly impact citizens’ daily lives.
He noted that the flyover project, awarded to construction giant Julius Berger, is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion, enhance road safety, and boost commercial activities once completed within the projected 12-month period.
The governor appealed to motorists and residents to exercise patience during construction, assuring them that his administration remains committed to accountability, transparency, and the delivery of people-oriented projects across Delta State.
