Super Falcons Yet to Receive $100,000 Reward -Ajibade
Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has expressed dismay over the delay in the payment of allowances and bonuses promised to the team after their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations triumph. Appearing on the forthcoming episode of With Chude, hosted by Chude Jideonwo, she revealed that the players have not received the $100,000 reward announced by President Bola Tinubu in July 2025 or other entitlements despite repeated assurances.
Ajibade explained that the team had been told the money was already allocated but nothing had been disbursed. She noted that even match bonuses remained unsettled, with the situation dragging on for weeks.
The 24-year-old forward said the delay was affecting players’ welfare and morale, with some resorting to pleas for payment. She called on the authorities to honour their commitments without further excuses.
Following their record 10th WAFCON title win in Morocco, Tinubu pledged $100,000 to each player alongside other benefits as recognition for their achievement, but more than a month later, the team is still waiting.
