Shimite: Hypertension Claim False, No Autopsy Results Yet -Relative

A relative of the late Shimite Love, Special Adviser on Trade and Export to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has dismissed social media reports claiming she died from hypertension.

Responding to inquiries from Warri Sentinel regarding a Facebook video in which Udoka Ikebuwa warned against the spread of misinformation surrounding Shimite’s death, Ikebuwa confirmed that while an autopsy was carried out on Thursday, April 24, the results have not yet been released.

The speculations appear to have originated from a post on X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as Olatunde Adekunle, who claimed that Shimite’s husband said the autopsy indicated she had hypertension.

Following her death, Shimite’s husband, David Love, was accused by her family of being responsible for her demise. Police spokesperson Bright Edafe confirmed that Mr Love was placed in protective custody after he reported the incident, citing concerns for his safety amid tensions with his in-laws.

Mrs Love passed away in the early hours of Easter Monday under unclear circumstances, with some sources alleging a brief illness possibly linked to food poisoning.

Ikebuwa urged media outlets to verify information before publishing or sharing it.

Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Command has not yet commented on the autopsy results, as investigations into the cause of her death are ongoing.
