Senator Nwoko: Enemies Using Regina’s Condition for Political Blackmail

Senator Ned Nwoko has alleged a coordinated campaign to smear his reputation by individuals using issues surrounding his wife, Regina Daniels, to damage his public image.

In a statement issued by his Communication/Technical Action Team on Monday, he said a long-standing group opposed to his progress was capitalising on the situation to portray him negatively locally and internationally.

Nwoko rejected claims linking him to land grabbing in his hometown, insisting the land in question was legitimately allocated for his University of Sports project. He said some individuals were exploiting “a young woman who is unwell,” claiming Regina had a history of substance use documented in medical records.

The lawmaker also clarified public speculation about their marriage, stating Regina married him at 19 and that the union followed traditional processes acknowledged by her family. He said those pushing fabricated stories would eventually have to defend their allegations in court.
