Rotary Club Gives Delta Community Health Centre A Facelift
In a move to foster healthy living amongst people around its area, the Rotary Club of Ubeji has rehabilitated the Ifiekporo community health centre in Warri South LGA, Warri Sentinel has learnt.
According to Mr. Emmanuel Etsano, President of the club, the project became apparent after a needs assessment was carried out on the deplorable state of the health centre which spurred the Club to mobilise resources to transform the health centre. Interventions by the Club include; the installation of a 3.5kva solar power solution, the installation of two delivery tables, total renovation of the delivery ward, repairs of toilets and leaking roofs.
In his address, the District 9141 Governor, Chinedu Ikegwuani commended members of the club for their swift intervention and encouraged indigenes to maintain the facility. He said, “these good people executed this project without grants from anywhere but out of love and humanity, they did it through selfless donations.”
Pa. George Mogbeyiteren, Olaraja of Ifiekporo who was represented by Pa. Francis Eyifoma, Hon. Ese Deduwa who represented the Warri South Council boss, Oritseweyinmi Agbateyiniro and members of the community appreciated Rotary Club of Ubeji for the gesture.
The project estimated at five million Naira, seeks to improve the healthcare of approximately 2500 people in Ifiekporo and neighbouring Ajaetan and Ijala-Ikeren communities.
