Retired Judge Found Dead in Asaba Home

The Delta State Police Command has launched a full investigation into the killing of retired judge, Justice Ifeoma Okogwu, whose body was found in her Asaba residence late Sunday. Her home, located behind The Pointer Newspaper headquarters, was reportedly ransacked, and her hands and legs were tied, indicating a violent attack.

A major turn in the case is the disappearance of the night security guard assigned to the residence, raising suspicion of internal involvement. The victim’s brother, Ogbueshi Godfrey Okogwu, said the family alerted police with details of the company responsible for deploying the guards, noting that the morning guard claimed he met the gate open but offered no clear explanation for his actions.

Police spokesperson Bright Edafe confirmed that some security personnel are in custody, while one guard remains at large. Investigators are now tracing possible collaborators as residents of Asaba await clearer answers.
