Police Arrest Suspects, Recover Arms in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has announced significant successes in its operations against kidnapping, illegal arms trafficking and drug-related crimes across the state.

Commissioner of Police Aina Adesola said the breakthroughs followed intelligence-driven operations carried out by specialized units of the command since his assumption of office.

According to him, a suspected inter-state kidnapper, Abubakar Mohammed, was arrested in Port Harcourt on December 29, 2025, leading to the recovery of rifles, ammunition and other weapons from locations in Delta and Bayelsa states. In another operation along the Ughelli–Patani Expressway, police engaged suspected kidnappers in a gun battle that left one suspect dead.

The command also arrested suspected gun runners and drug dealers in Ughelli, Warri, Sapele and Effurun, recovering firearms, cash and quantities of substances believed to be illicit drugs. CP Adesola urged residents to continue supporting the police with timely information.
