Outcry As System Failure Disrupts Chevron’s Graduate Aptitude Test
A major system failure during Chevron Nigeria Limited’s Graduate Aptitude Test has raised global concerns, as participants were unable to complete the assessment.
The test, conducted virtually on Saturday, October 26, 2024, and managed by IT service provider Dragnet, faced technical disruptions that prevented access for candidates across Nigeria, Africa, and countries like Canada and the United States.
According to reports from affected candidates, the Dragnet system encountered prolonged issues, leading to a two-hour shutdown during which many candidates were unable to continue. In several instances, the platform remained unresponsive for over an hour, and some candidates were unable to access the test despite completing the pre-test assessments.
The system failure led to widespread frustration, with candidates flooding Dragnet’s customer service line and emails in an attempt to report the issue. However, many claim their requests for assistance were ignored.
Stakeholders in Nigeria and the diaspora are calling on Chevron Nigeria Limited to launch a thorough investigation into the Dragnet system stressing that the integrity of the examination is now in question. Many are advocating for a rescheduling of the test, warning that the system’s failure could compromise the assessment’s fairness.
Furthermore, stakeholders have suggested Chevron consider implementing a physical examination option for rural candidates who may lack access to stable internet connections, as this could prevent future disruptions.
