Operation Delta Safe Troops Nab Two, Seize Weapons in Ogidigben

Troops under Operation Delta Safe have arrested two suspects and recovered several weapons during a security raid in Ogidigben community, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The action followed reports of sporadic gunshots in the area on April 7. Acting on the information, troops from 3 Battalion (Rear) moved into the community and carried out a search operation that led to the arrest of the suspects.

During the operation, security personnel recovered four AK-47 rifles, six magazines, and 106 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. Other items found include two knives, 10 machetes, and four pairs of rain boots.

Military authorities say the suspects are in custody while investigations continue, noting that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities and strengthen security across the Niger Delta.
