Omo-Agege Sets Sights on Delta Central Senate Seat for 2027

OMO-AGEGE

Former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has officially declared his intention to contest the Delta Central Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Omo-Agege said his decision followed extensive consultations with leaders, stakeholders, and constituents across all eight local government areas of Delta Central. The former lawmaker emphasized that his return to the Senate is a response to calls for experienced and results-driven representation for the Urhobo Nation.

Omo-Agege, who served as Senator from 2015 to 2023 and held the position of Deputy Senate President, said his renewed bid focuses on strengthening legislative impact, attracting more federal presence, and advancing development in key sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and employment.

He pledged to work closely with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to support the “Renewed Hope Agenda” while calling for unity within the APC in Delta State. Omo-Agege stressed that his ambition is driven by the desire to ensure Delta Central maintains a strong, influential voice in national decision-making.
