Oborevwori Vows to Preserve Church Buildings Amid Development Plans

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has assured religious leaders and citizens that his administration will not destroy church buildings during the construction of infrastructure in the state. The Governor made this declaration on Sunday at the dedication service of the new church auditorium of Jesus Christ Temple Ministry, located at Ebrumede Roundabout in Effurun.

Reflecting on his visit over a year ago, Oborevwori revealed that when he first saw the concept design for the construction, he discovered that more than half of the church’s auditorium would be demolished. He immediately instructed the Ministry of Works to revise the plans to preserve the church structure, emphasizing his commitment to safeguarding places of worship.

“As an elder in the Living Faith Church, I will not be part of a situation where a church building will be destroyed,” Oborevwori said.

The Governor acknowledged the significant role of the church in the lives of its members and the wider community. “This is not just a physical structure we are dedicating today, but a place where lives will be transformed, prayers answered, and the name of God glorified,” he added.

Oborevwori also praised Prophet Amos Evomobor, the visionary leader of the Jesus Christ Temple Ministry, for his leadership and commitment to the project, stating that the church would continue to grow and make a lasting impact in the community.

The Governor concluded his remarks by praying for the church’s continued success.

Earlier in the service, Prophet Amos Evomobor shared his personal testimony, thanking God for his life and the growth of the church. Reflecting on his journey, he recounted how he initially felt unqualified for the task of ministry due to his lack of formal education.
