Oborevwori Invites Omo-Agege, Other Oppositions to Join Project Tour

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has challenged opposition figures to join him on a tour of state projects to see how funds are being utilised. The Governor made the call after inspecting the newly completed twin bridges at Ubu River on the Ughelli-Asaba Expressway on Wednesday, March 5.

Oborevwori dismissed criticisms from former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, about the cost of infrastructure projects, labelling them as uninformed.

“I don’t want to join issues with my critics; some say we have gotten so much money and we are doing flyover for over N70 billion. How can flyover be N77 billion?

“It takes only one hour twenty minutes to get to Ughelli, his local government. The road is good”.

He emphasised that his administration has not borrowed money in nearly 21 months, and that contractors are paid on time with no outstanding debts.

Oborevwori highlighted improvements to road infrastructure, including a faster travel time to Ughelli, and expressed satisfaction with the progress of the twin bridges, which he expects to be completed by the end of the year.

He also addressed other ongoing projects, such as the Ofagbe Bridge, and revealed plans for new accommodation at the Commissioners’ Quarters, which is 95% complete and due for inauguration next month.
