Oborevwori Inspects Ughelli-Asaba Road Project, Criticizes Poor Drainage Work
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has criticized contractor, Dora-Dan Global Resources for a poor drainage construction on the 9.1km Isheagu-Ewulu road project in Aniocha South Local Government Area.
Governor Oborevwori made the criticism during an inspection of the Ubu bridge in sector C1 of the ongoing Ughelli-Asaba road dualization project in the council area.
The governor described the contractor’s actions as “pure wickedness” and warned that the project, which cost over N4 billion, would not be commissioned until the necessary corrections were made.
The Isheagu-Ewulu contract was awarded in 2021 by the Okowa-led administration to Dora-Dan Global Resources.
Governor Oborevwori expressed satisfaction with the asphalt work on the Isheagu-Ewulu road but reiterated that the drainage issues must be resolved before the project could be commissioned. He also confirmed that the Ubu bridge, a critical part of the Ughelli-Asaba road, is expected to be completed by December 2024 despite challenges caused by the rains.
