Delta @ 33: Oborevwori Highlights Delta’s Economic Progress, Urges Unity
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has underscored the state’s economic advancements and its position as a growing powerhouse in Nigeria.
Governor Oborevwori said this at a thanksgiving service marking the 33rd anniversary of the state which held at the Government House Chapel in Asaba. The governor lauded the state’s economic achievements and the role of divine guidance in its development.
The governor expressed pride in Delta State’s transformation into a vibrant and strategic player within Nigeria.
“In 33 years, Delta State has firmly established itself as a significant force, both locally and internationally. Our entrepreneurial spirit, passion, and ingenuity are widely recognized,” he said.
The governor also highlighted key investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social welfare that have propelled the state forward. Despite the progress, Governor Oborevwori acknowledged that continued success hinges on unity and divine intervention. He called on Deltans to seek God’s blessings and protection, stressing that only through divine guidance can the state maintain and build on its economic gains.
The governor further praised Deltans for their peaceful behavior during the recent #endbadgovernance protests, emphasizing the importance of peace and security in sustaining development. He promised ongoing collaboration with security agencies to ensure the safety of residents.
Reflecting on his administration’s achievements over the past 15 months, Governor Oborevwori assured his commitment to enhancing Delta State’s social and economic development. He also honored past leaders and community figures whose contributions have been vital to the state’s progress.
Our correspondent reports that the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme; Members of the State House of Assembly led by Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor (represented by Majority Leader Emeka Nwaobi),Chief Judge of Delta State, Honourable Justice Theresa Diai; President of the Delta State Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Ngozi Ojugbana-Orishedere, PDP Chairman, Barr Kingsley Esiso, security agencies, royal fathers, religious leaders, and others were in attendance.
