The governor stated that these roads are critical to the economic and social development of Warri, aligning with the administration’s commitment to restoring the city’s historic importance as a commercial hub in Delta State. He noted that improved infrastructure is central to unlocking trade and easing mobility across urban centers like Warri.

In addition to road infrastructure, Governor Oborevwori announced a series of investments in the state’s healthcare sector. He stated that dialysis machines will be distributed to key tertiary health institutions, including Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara; Central Hospital, Warri; and Central Hospital, Asaba. CT scan machines will also be supplied to healthcare facilities across all 25 local government areas, with the aim of strengthening antenatal care and diagnostic services statewide. According to the governor, primary healthcare workers will undergo targeted training programs to ensure optimal use of this equipment and provide high-quality, affordable healthcare services to residents.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s pledge to continue investing in infrastructure, stating that DSC-PTI-Effurun flyover projects currently under construction will be completed and commissioned by the first quarter of 2025. The Warri Township Stadium renovation project has also been awarded and is scheduled for commissioning within the same period.

Calling for sustained peace across Warri and the wider Delta State, Oborevwori appealed to residents to maintain a calm and law-abiding environment, emphasizing that development can only thrive in a secure and stable atmosphere. He encouraged young people to take full advantage of existing youth empowerment initiatives provided by the state and warned against the illegal practice of land levies, commonly referred to as “deve,” which has been outlawed since 2018. He urged Delta’s youth population to channel their energies toward positive enterprise and help build the state into a destination of choice for local and foreign investors.

Speaking further, the governor commended the leadership of Warri South Local Government Chairman, Oritseweyinmi Isaac Agbateyinro for sustaining peace in the area.

As part of his continued engagement with traditional and grassroots leadership, the governor announced that all council chairmen and traditional rulers across Delta State have been invited to a high-level stakeholders’ security meeting scheduled to hold in Asaba on Thursday, June 5, 2025.
