Oborevwori Allocates N100bn to Boost Local Govt Projects
The Delta State Government has allocated N100 billion to fund local development projects across the state. Governor Sheriff Oborevwori announced that N4 billion would be given to each of the state’s 25 local government areas to improve infrastructure and address local needs. This special fund is aimed at accelerating development and is separate from other ongoing investments in various sectors.
Governor Oborevwori stated that the initiative is part of his administration’s commitment to spreading development across all parts of the state. He emphasized that the funding would help fill critical infrastructure gaps, improve roads, drainage, and other essential services, benefiting communities throughout Delta.
This move comes as part of a broader plan to ensure that development reaches every corner of the state, not just major urban centers. The governor also mentioned that additional projects, such as road construction and drainage systems, would be prioritized in areas suffering from long-standing infrastructure challenges.
With the N100 billion fund, Governor Oborevwori aims to lay a foundation for sustainable development and ensure that the people of Delta State have better access to improved infrastructure and services. The allocation reflects the state government’s focus on enhancing the quality of life for all its residents.
