NNPC Hikes Petrol Prices by N35 in Abuja, N45 in Lagos
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has implemented a new increase in fuel prices, raising the cost of petrol in Abuja from N910 to N945 per litre, and in Lagos, from N870 to N915 per litre. This marks a N35 increase in Abuja and N45 hike in Lagos.
Reports indicate that several NNPC stations in Lagos have already adjusted their pumps to reflect the new price. Motorists were observed queuing at stations, including those along the Niger Badagry Highway and in Igando, where petrol is now being sold at N915 per litre.
Similarly, NNPC outlets in the Federal Housing Area and Kubwa, FCT, have adjusted their prices to N945 per litre, up from the previous N910.
Other fuel retailers are also following suit. MRS stations in Lagos have increased their prices to N925 per litre, up from N875. TotalEnergies has also raised its prices to N910 per litre, from N879.
This latest round of price hikes follows the Dangote refinery’s decision to raise the ex-depot price of petrol to N880 per litre, a move that has had ripple effects across the sector.
