NCDMB Trains Delta Teachers to Strengthen STEM Education

In a bid to enhance local capacity for the oil and gas sector, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has launched a five-day training program for teachers from Delta State’s oil and gas host communities. The training focuses on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, aimed at improving the quality of teaching in these critical fields.

OMAROG Nigeria Company Limited is leading the training, which seeks to equip teachers with the necessary skills to foster student interest in STEM subjects, particularly as they relate to the oil and gas industry. The initiative aligns with NCDMB’s broader goal of boosting indigenous expertise in the sector.

The hands-on training includes interactive workshops and collaborative planning sessions designed to better prepare students for careers in the energy sector. The NCDMB sees this as a long-term investment in both the education system and the local economy, ensuring students are equipped with relevant skills for future opportunities.

Through these efforts, the board aims to create a generation of professionals who will contribute to the growth and sustainability of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
