NCDMB Partners Foundation to Empower Sixty Youths in Warri
In an effort at curbing youth restiveness in the Niger Delta, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, (NCDMB) as part of its mandate to promoting local content and capacity development within the Nigerian oil and gas industry has partnered the Roli Mabo Foundation in the training and empowerment of youths in various business enterprises in Warri.
For six months, sixty youth were gathered at the Multi-purpose Youth Training Centre, Egbokodo where they acquired skills in agricultural enterprise, catering, tailoring, shoe making, hairdressing and Make up.
At a graduation ceremony which held at the Centre in Warri on Tuesday September 16, 2025 beneficiaries were handed starter packs as well as training certificates by the organizers who tasked the new beneficiaries with putting their knowledge to use as well as not selling the starter packs as the training came to an end.
Speaking at the ceremony, Engr. Weyinmi Ebiyon, a representative of the NCDMB conveyed the goodwill message of the Executive Secretary, Engr Felix Ogbe and the board to the beneficiaries. He stated that the initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda.
Full of praise for the NCDMB, Ade Mabo, Founder of the Roli Mabo Foundation highlighted the painstaking effort in organizing the program which may not have been possible without the support of the Agency.
Mrs Oreva Okonye, Centre Administrator, Multi-purpose Youth Training Centre, Egbokodo appreciated the Roli Mabo Foundation for choosing the Centre for the initiative. She described the program as the best the Centre has hosted since its inception in 2008.
Mr. Sunny Ofe, Commissioner, Representing Itsekiri Ethnic Nationality on the board of DESOPADEC also spared some encouraging words for the organizers and beneficiaries.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with Warri Sentinel could not hide their joy as they disclosed that they have been empowered for life.
