Military Detains Agency Head Over Alleged Fund Transfer to Sylva
The Managing Director of a federal agency in the South-South has been arrested by military investigators over a large fund transfer reportedly traced to former petroleum minister, Timipre Sylva.
Security operatives, according to The Punch, made the arrest as part of an expanding probe into financial irregularities involving several individuals already under investigation. The inquiry intensified after Sylva’s Abuja home was searched, leading to the arrest of his Special Assistant and driver. The former minister was said to be abroad during the operation.
While the Defence Headquarters has yet to comment on the matter, it earlier confirmed that 16 military officers were in custody for alleged violations of service regulations.
