Lawmaker Commissions Solar-Powered Borehole in Enerhen

Residents of Enerhen community in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State, now have improved access to clean drinking water following the commissioning of a solar-powered borehole on January 21, 2026.The project was delivered by Hon. Ben Etanabene, the Member of the House of Representatives representing Okpe/Sapele/Uvwie Federal Constituency.

The community had faced difficulties accessing potable water, often traveling long distances to fetch it. The new borehole is expected to ease this burden and improve the health and wellbeing of residents.

At the commissioning ceremony, the lawmaker explained that the project was initiated after learning about the water challenges in the area. He said similar projects would be extended to nearby communities such as Orerokpe and Sapele.

The lawmaker thanked the Federal and State governments and the community for their support. He also drank from the borehole to show confidence in the water’s quality.
