Iyara Community Count Losses After Fire Outbreak

A devasting fire broke out early this morning in the Iyara community of Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.
In an online video, eyewitnesses reported that the blaze, which began before dawn, was caused by an electrical problem and quickly razed down the building reportedly belonging to the Akubor family.

“We heard people shouting ‘fire, fire,’ and rushed outside, only to see fire everywhere,” one victim recounted. Another added, “As soon as I arrived, I started crying; even the money I had in the house was burned.”

No casualties were reported, but investigations are expected to begin soon to determine the cause of the fire. The victims are now appealing to the government for assistance. The police have yet to comment on the situation.
