Ifiekporo Community Football Tournament Set to Kick-off

Ifiekporo community in Warri South Local Government area, Delta state is gearing up for its highly anticipated football competition, which is set to kick off on November 30th, 2024.

In a statement made available to Warri Sentinel, Andy Eyifoma, Youth spokesperson, he encouraged grassroot players and supporters to take part in what promises to be an exciting event.

The tournament will feature attractive cash prizes for standout performers. The Best Player and Highest Goal Scorer will each receive a prize of 15,000 Naira, while the overall winner will take home a cash reward of 300,000 Naira. The second runner-up will also be rewarded with 100,000 Naira. Additionally, medals and a gold trophy will be presented to the top players and teams.

To ensure fair play and smooth proceedings, the organisers have outlined the following rules:

1. A Yellow Card will incur a fine of 500 Naira.
2. A Red Card will incur a fine of 1,000 Naira.
3. Players who fail to pay fines will be disqualified from the following match.
4. Each team must have a designated captain
5. Punctuality is crucial; any team that arrives more than 30 minutes late will forfeit the match.
6. Teams can have a maximum of 10 players.
7. Registration is open to individuals who can field a full team of players.

The registration fee for each team is 25,000 Naira. Interested teams must complete their registration by November 28, as the tournament will commence on November 30, 2024.

This community competition aims to foster local talent and sportsmanship while providing a fun and competitive environment for all participants.
