Ibori Launches Otemu Foundation for Delta’s Underprivileged Students

Former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori, has officially announced the launch of the Otemu Educational Foundation (OF), a new initiative aimed at transforming the educational landscape for underprivileged students in the region. The foundation is committed to supporting bright, talented youth from Delta State who lack the financial resources to pursue their academic aspirations.

In a statement, Ibori expressed his deep belief in the transformative power of education, stating that the Otemu Educational Foundation will serve as a vehicle for positive change. “By investing in these bright young minds, we are not only fostering individual growth but also empowering future leaders who will drive progress in their communities and beyond,” Ibori said.

Warri Sentinel understands the foundation will offer scholarships and resources to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, ensuring that they have access to the opportunities needed to succeed academically. Ibori also revealed that the foundation is in the process of developing a world-class, digitally driven system for pre-selection and candidate profiling. This initiative aims to ensure that the students selected for support demonstrate both academic potential and strong character.

According to the former governor, a dedicated web portal for the foundation will be launched soon, marking the commencement of the application season. The portal will streamline the application process, ensuring transparency and accessibility for eligible students.

“Our goal is to create an environment where every student, regardless of their socio-economic background, has access to quality education and the necessary resources to thrive,” Ibori added.

Ibori called on communities, partners, and donors to support the Otemu Educational Foundation, noting that their collective efforts will create a lasting impact and a brighter, more equitable future for all.
