House of Reps Gifts N705 Million to President Tinubu
Members of Nigeria’s House of Representatives have gifted President Bola Tinubu N705 million to support his initiative aimed at alleviating the challenges faced by the country’s vulnerable population.
The presentation took place on Monday, March 17, during an Iftar gathering at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock in Abuja, marking a significant moment for the lawmakers and the president.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Bayo Onanuga, the president’s aide on information and strategy, described the occasion as memorable, highlighting the gesture as an important step towards addressing Nigeria’s social issues.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, explained that the funds were raised through donations made by members, who contributed 50 percent of their salaries since July 2024.
Also in attendance at the Iftar were Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.
