Governor Oborevwori Resolves Aladja-Ogbe-Ijoh Land Dispute
The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, held a crucial meeting with representatives from the Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities on Saturday at his Osubi residence. The discussions focused on resolving the longstanding land dispute between the two communities, located in the Udu and Warri South-West Local Government Areas respectively.
The meeting also included members of the peace committee, which was set up to address the challenges arising from the Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh crisis. Both communities expressed a strong commitment to peace and agreed on mutually acceptable terms to resolve the conflict.
Governor Oborevwori commended the elders and youth from both sides for their dedication to fostering peaceful coexistence. He assured the participants that a formal statement outlining the agreed terms would be announced soon.
In addition to the peace talks, the Governor noted his administration’s previous efforts to improve relations between the communities, including the approval from the State Executive Council for the construction of the Aladja/Ogbe-Ijoh road. The road project is expected to enhance accessibility and promote greater interaction between the two communities, further encouraging peaceful cooperation.
Both Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh representatives expressed their appreciation for the Governor’s proactive approach and effective intervention in the conflict resolution process.
