Governor Oborevwori Presents Staff of Office to 14th Asagba of Asaba

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori today officially presented the staff of office to Obi Professor Epiphany Azinge (SAN), OON, the 14th Asagba of Asaba. The ceremony took place at the Ogwa Ukwu Ahaba Hall in Asaba.

In his address, Governor Oborevwori urged the new Asagba to focus on inclusivity and peace throughout his reign. He stressed the crucial role of traditional rulers as intermediaries between the people and the government, ensuring the voices of grassroots communities are heard.

The governor expressed confidence in Obi Azinge’s leadership, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to collaborating with traditional institutions to implement policies that will benefit all Deltans. He also congratulated the Asagba on his successful rise to the throne, noting that Asaba is currently experiencing a growing influx of new residents.

Obi Professor Epiphany Azinge was coronated as the 14th Asagba of Asaba Kingdom in October 2024, following a traditional process steeped in the rich history of the kingdom.
