Governor Oborevwori Mourns Four Killed in Agbor Fire
According to reports, the tanker suffered a brake failure at a traffic light junction, leading to its collision and subsequent explosion. The resulting inferno engulfed the area, causing significant damage to property and claiming the lives of those caught in the blaze.
Emergency services and local residents quickly responded to the scene, working together to extinguish the flames and assist the victims.
In a message of condolence, Governor Oborevwori conveyed his sympathy to the families of the victims, describing the incident as “horrifying.”
The Governor, in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, expressed hopes for the quick recovery of the injured and offered prayers for those mourning their loved ones.
Governor Oborevwori also directed the State Ministry of Health and the Delta State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to provide immediate medical care and assistance to those affected by the incident. He commended the efforts of the Fire Service, local volunteers, and security personnel for their swift and dedicated response.
The explosion has sparked concerns over road safety and the safety of tanker transportation in the region, as an investigation into the cause of the accident begins.
