Governor Fubara Calls Amaewhule-Led Assembly to Meeting Tomorrow
Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has invited the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, and other lawmakers to a meeting scheduled for Monday, 10 March 2025. The meeting will take place at the Governor’s Office in the Government House, Port Harcourt, at 10:00 AM.
The invitation, issued in a letter dated 7 March and obtained by Channels Television, was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo. The meeting is expected to address several important issues, including the provision of a suitable venue for Assembly sittings, the payment of outstanding remuneration and allowances for members, and the presentation of the state budget.
The Governor and lawmakers will also discuss other matters aimed at charting a new course for the oil-rich state. The meeting comes amidst tension between the executive and legislative branches of the state government.
