FG Reclaims Ownership As Wike Revokes PDP’s Land
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has officially revoked the land approval for the National Headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.
In a letter addressed to the party’s National Chairman, Umar Damagun, the FCT Minister cited the PDP’s failure to settle outstanding annual ground rents for the property over the past 20 years. The unpaid fees cover the period from January 1, 2006, to January 1, 2025.

The FCT Administration had issued several public notices in national newspapers and electronic media since 2023, urging landowners in the capital city to clear their overdue payments. Despite these reminders, the PDP’s non-compliance with these notices led to the revocation, in accordance with Section 28, Subsection 5 (a) and (b) of the Land Use Act.
As a result, the property, located at Plot No. 243, Central Area, Cadastral Zone A00, Abuja, has been reclaimed by the FCT Administration, which will now take immediate possession of the land.
