Father Of Nine Allegedly Commits Suicide In Jeddo Community

A father of nine, identified as Mr. Charles, reportedly took his own life in the early hours of Monday in Jeddo community of Okpe Local Government, Delta State.

Sources close to the family disclosed that the deceased, who was a member of the Jeddo Community Vigilante group, allegedly drank an insecticide at his residence before proceeding to his in-law’s house in nearby Ugbokodo, where he eventually passed away.

It was gathered that prior to the unfortunate incident, Mr. Charles had a heated argument with his wife, begging her not to leave him. However, the wife reportedly refused to reconsider her decision. Distraught by the situation, he allegedly ingested the poisonous substance.

Though no suicide note was found at the scene, eyewitnesses confirmed that empty bottles of the insecticide were discovered in his pockets, raising suspicions of suicide.

As of the time of filing this report, the Delta State Police Command is yet to comment on the incident.
