Eric Igban Foundation Organises Academic Competition in Ugborodo

The Eric Igban Foundation on Saturday organized a Mathematics and English competition for pupils and students from riverine Ugborodo communities in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, with participants drawn from primary and secondary schools across the area.

The programme brought together learners from primary and secondary schools who engaged in written assessments, quiz rounds and practical problem-solving tasks at the Ugborodo Community Centre, highlighting academic potential within communities often faced with limited educational resources.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Dr. Andrew Omagbemi Igban, said the initiative reflects a long-term commitment to education and youth development in Ugborodo and its surrounding areas. He called on parents and community leaders to play active roles in supporting children’s learning from an early stage.

At the end of the competition, winners emerged across categories and received cash awards, which the foundation advised should be used to support educational growth. Educators and community stakeholders present applauded the effort, noting its impact in motivating learners and encouraging healthy academic rivalry among riverine youths.
