EFCC Summons Bomadi Chairman Over ₦800m Loan
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has invited the Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Dagidi Andaye, and five others over an ₦800 million loan obtained from a commercial bank.
The investigation followed a petition by fifteen councillors who alleged that the loan was secured without legislative approval and that their signatures were forged. They called for urgent action to recover the funds and hold those responsible accountable.
Impeachment proceedings against the chairman have also commenced, with allegations ranging from financial misconduct to abuse of office. Relevant authorities, including the Delta State House of Assembly, have been notified.
Mr. Andaye has rejected the accusations, claiming they stem from political rivalry. He insisted the loan process was lawful and said councillors’ consent was not required under existing regulations.
