Edo Governor Suspends Aide Over Unauthorized Fundraising
Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has suspended his Special Adviser on Oil and Gas, Felix Osemwengie Isere, over allegations of unauthorized fundraising for a scheduled oil and gas summit.
The suspension, announced by Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, also halts the summit, previously billed to begin August 7. Donors have been advised to request refunds and suspend all dealings with the adviser.
The state government has pledged to investigate the matter further.
