Dangote Refinery Withdraws Fuel Import Lawsuit
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has withdrawn its legal challenge against the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) over the issuance of fuel import licences.
The refinery had previously asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to nullify the licences issued to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and several private marketers. The case was based on claims that the licences violated provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act.
No reasons were given for the withdrawal. The move comes amid ongoing discussions over refining capacity and energy policy in Nigeria.
