DESOPADEC Staff, Deborah Edah Succumbs to Kidney Complications
Mrs. Deborah Edah, a level 15 senior staff of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) and a fervent advocate for coastal women’s community development, has passed away today, September 8, due to kidney-related complications, Warri Sentinel has learnt.
Mrs. Edah’s condition deteriorated significantly on Thursday night, complicating plans for a kidney transplant.
The deceased was admitted to the intensive care unit at Mount Horeb Hospital in Warri, Delta State, where she was undergoing dialysis. Her condition reportedly worsened on Friday, September 6, due to complications arising from a shortage of blood.
“We were unable to make the journey the next day as her health worsened. We tried to stabilize her for the trip, but she did not survive,” the deceased brother, Mr Odoyo Edah, disclosed in a chat with Warri Sentinel.
Her brother further revealed that despite a blood transfusion, her life could not be saved.
“My sister did not die due to a lack of funds, but from severe complications. She was short of blood and had to undergo a transfusion. Unfortunately, she did not survive.”
He expressed gratitude to the general public for their support. “After your report, there was a massive response, and we are grateful to everyone who helped.”
Recall that Warri Sentinel had earlier reported Mrs. Edah’s failing health condition as her family sought financial assistance.
The deceased is survived by her two children, Charles Itoko and Amireloritse Ologho.
